Scott first came to Speakeasy as a client – after ten successful years as a senior executive on Wall Street and in the media entertainment industry. His own Speakeasy experience was profound enough that he joined the company as Executive VP and bought the business ten years later in 2003. Scott leads Speakeasy’s management effort – he is our visionary, and our most constant driver of both growth and quality. His best-selling book DARE! has received a gold medal award for ethics, and he speaks regularly on the importance of honesty in communication.

A part time athlete and now full time family man, Kip brings 30 years of experience in linking great solutions with critical client needs to Speakeasy’s leadership team. A native of Dodge City, Kansas, Kip has been in Atlanta since the early seventies and has been with Speakeasy for over 25 years. His objectivity and an ability to listen and honestly advise is an integral contribution to our management team.

Paige Goldner

Paige plays a critical role on our management team. Her 25-plus years of experience in human resources, operations, and consulting provide Speakeasy with the breadth of insights essential to leading the company’s operational and human capital functions. She is a proud graduate of the University of Alabama and is a native Atlantan. In addition to being a rabid “Tide” fan, she’s a wife, mom, dog-lover, outdoor enthusiast, downhill skier, and yogi.

Angela manages most of the things that directly impact the quality of our client experience at Speakeasy. She brings 24 years of operational expertise in the manufacturing and insurance industries to a role that includes maximizing our instructor resources, driving quality in client communication and overseeing the company’s administrative services. She and her family have been in Atlanta for 35 years and her sense of balance is key to our management efforts.

Ryan Baksh

Ryan brings over a decade of experience in sales leadership and managing high performance teams to his role in developing the consulting team at Speakeasy. A former college and professional ice hockey goaltender from Canada, Ryan knows a thing or two about grit, goals, and the desire to succeed. These traits help him provide solutions to clients who need to overcome business challenges. Ryan calls Chicago home with his wife, son and cat. He is passionate about travel, Friday pizza nights and all sports from the University of Michigan. He’s an undercover shark enthusiast and never misses Shark week on the Discovery channel…NEVER.

Brian Dawson

At Speakeasy 24 years

Brian came to Speakeasy in 1999 as a contractor to perform Y2K upgrades on the database, registration systems, and network domain… and we’ve never let him leave. Originally a native of Washington State, Brian first arrived in Atlanta in 1994 to finish an 8-year military tour as an Infantryman and paratrooper with the US Army. Now he has 5 children and roots firmly planted in Georgia.

He is a true nerd that enjoys problem-solving, new technology, tinkering with solar energy projects, and volunteering with groups like ‘code for kids’ as well as his own kids various school groups focused on robotics and wrestling. Brian has been with speakeasy for 24 years and enjoys supporting a team of professionals that are doing things that make a difference in people’s lives. He has 2 dogs, Cowboy and Roscoe, too many free-range chickens to count, a large garden, and a big workshop with many unfinished nerd projects.

David Medford, CPA

David J. Medford, CPA, joined Speakeasy in 2005.  He has the responsibility for focus on domestic and international finances.  He upholds strong financial management and accountability while providing timely, accurate, and reliable financial information, ongoing cash flow projections, and oversight over accounting and finance operations, as well as design and maintenance of financial reporting structures.  Other financial duties include financial planning and analysis, investor relations, treasury and tax as well as other advisory roles.

David began his career at the Georgia State Golf Association where he served as the Director of Finance & Operations and was instrumental in building the financial and operational infrastructure for five organizations.

David holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of South Carolina and a Masters of Business Administration from Georgia State University.  He currently lives in Atlanta with his wife and son.

Brent is a long-standing client and advocate of Speakeasy, first attending The Leader’s Edge in the early 2000s. With client service experience spanning four decades, including two decades as a Partner at Ernst & Young, Brent has consistently driven innovation that creates value for his colleagues and clients. He has embraced numerous leadership roles throughout his career, leading change initiatives and improving the performance of cross-generational, cross-border, and cross-cultural teams. As a passionate lifelong learner, Brent also brings a wealth of health, wellness, and behavior change expertise to our team. His entrepreneurial spirit and multi-domain expertise perfectly align with our purpose and core values.

Originally from Orange County, California, Brent lived and worked in Silicon Valley before moving to Atlanta permanently in 1996. He is passionate about coaching and helping others achieve their personal and professional goals. Although his dream to be a professional baseball player didn’t quite pan out, he still has illusions of getting back to the diamond. His near-term ambitions are now more culinary, with his family recently suffering through a major kitchen renovation.
